Beginning for the 2025-2026 school year, HCS students in grades K-12 are not permitted to display or use a cell phone, smartwatch, or other electronic communication device on school property during the school day.

Academy Excellence

The Academy for Advanced Studies (AAS) is a College and Career Academy and a program of choice for high school students enrolled in Henry County Schools.

Congratulations to our amazing Teacher of the Year, Ms. Erin Dickey!  Ms. Dickey is an outstanding educator who brings learning to life through standards-based instruction and meaningful, real-world experiences for her students. She leads the Early Childhood Care & Education II and Teaching as a Profession pathways with passion, purpose, and professionalism. A true team player, Ms. Dickey exemplifies dedication and excellence in everything she does. We are proud and grateful to have her as part of the AAS faculty and staff!

Career Technical and Agricultural Education (CTAE) and Fine Arts pathways at AAS are divided into four schools: The School of Business and Digital Design; The School of Creative Studies; The School of Engineering, Power and Automation; and The School of Wellness and Community Services.

Pathways at AAS

In collaboration with Southern Crescent Technical College, AAS offers 14 Dual Enrollment pathways that lead to Technical Certificates of Credit.

AAS' Dual Enrollment TCCs

Each month, team members at AAS identify and celebrate certified and support professionals who work tirelessly to create authentic, engaging learning experiences for our associates.

For the 2024-2025 academic year, 100% of seniors at AAS had a post-secondary plan.  Students identified their post-secondary plan as either to:

  • join the workforce
  • join the military
  • attend a technical college; or
  • attend a four-year college or university
