Beginning for the 2025-2026 school year, HCS students in grades K-12 are not permitted to display or use a cell phone, smartwatch, or other electronic communication device on school property during the school day.

HCS is cultivating a dynamic learning environment that includes offering science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) educational opportunities across all grades.

Academy Excellence
The Academy for Advanced Studies (AAS) is a College and Career Academy and a program of choice for high school students enrolled in Henry County Schools.
Congratulations to our amazing 2026 Teacher of the Year, Ms. Emily Sutton-Robinson! Ms. Sutton-Robinson brings learning to life through standards-based instruction and meaningful, real-world experiences. As the instructor for AAS’s Veterinary Science and Equine Science pathways, she leads with passion, purpose, and professionalism while supporting students as they explore careers in animal science. We are proud to celebrate her dedication to students and to the AAS community.
Career, Technical, and Agricultural Education (CTAE) and Fine Arts pathways at AAS are organized into four schools: the School of Business and Digital Design, the School of Creative Studies, the School of Engineering, Power and Automation, and the School of Wellness and Community Services. Together, these schools connect related programs and give students opportunities to build technical, creative, and professional skills through hands-on, career-focused learning and exploration.

The Academy for Advanced Studies proudly offers 39 CTAE and Fine Arts pathways designed to connect classroom learning with postsecondary education and career opportunities. Students can explore fields ranging from business, technology, engineering, automotive and construction to healthcare, culinary arts, veterinary science, audio-video production, design, dance and theatre. Each pathway provides authentic, career-focused learning and opportunities to develop skills for the future.
In collaboration with Southern Crescent Technical College, AAS offers 14 Dual Enrollment pathways that lead to Technical Certificates of Credit. These programs allow students to earn high school and college credit while gaining training in fields such as automotive collision repair, barbering, criminal justice, emergency medical services, industrial systems, logistics, welding, nurse aide, culinary arts and cosmetology. Students can begin building college credentials before graduation.
